Christmas Party

Bet you didn't know that "Cousin It" was at our party!
Lauren looks a little upset that Brother Joel is taking her picture.

Just to show that I am a good sport.
Our Christmas party was a blast tonight. We had good food and a fun time. Everyone was told to bring two wrapped gifts that only cost a dollar each. I think the kids doubted me when I told them to only spend a dollar on each gift, but we had some great stuff brought. We played games to win the presents. The "Left-Right" game was great fun, but a little over some people's heads! Some of the presents that were won were silly string, whoopee cushions, glow wands, candy, and so on. I was really impressed with the creativity of the presents!
Brother Joel spent the night trying to take pictures of everyone, but got more pictures of hair, eyes, ears, and noses than I care to see! He then got serious and read us the Christmas Story from Luke 2 and reminded us to "ponder" on these things like Mary did.
I'm glad you all came tonight. I hope each one of you have very Merry Christmas and I will see you in the New Year!

Camping Trip

We had a great time at the campout. Yes, it got cold, but we all survived
without freezing to death. The food was outstanding. This was a gourmet
campout. No hotdogs for us. We had smoked venison with peppers and
onions, beans cooked over the fire, and fried corncakes. What was for
dessert you wonder? Well, of course we had smores, but we also had
brownies and homemade caramel popcorn. Dessert was finished off
with hot chocolate. What a feast!!
After a challenging game of capture the flag, Mr. Travis took us on a hay
ride. If you ever want some excitement, take Kari on a hay ride!!!
When the hay ride was over, Brother Joel challenged us from the Word
of God. Then it was more capture the flag, eating, and bed.
Saturday morning brought pancakes, bacon, and HOT coffee. After
everyone's bellies were full it was more capture the flag and
one-on-one time with Brother Joel.
I think if you ask anyone who was at the campout they will say that
it was a great weekend.

Friday Night Fun

We had a great time tonight at the Franks' home. Many hot dogs, chips,

brownies, and marshmallows were consumed, with the award going to

Possum and Squirrel for the most marshmallows roasted and eaten.

Brother Joel gave a good devotion on the consuming fire. After our bellies

and hearts were full, we enjoyed a competitive game of capture the flag.

Next time we'll make sure Carmen has her own flashlight so she can see

the fence before she runs into it! Be inviting your friends to the next

Friday night activity.

Friday Night Activity-Part III

Brother Joel-Always Injured!

Part III of the night was the fun game "Train Wreck".
If you have never played the game you must play
it with Brother Joel. As you can tell by the pictures,
the pizza and cookies that were eaten were quickly
worked off by playing this game. The game kept
going and going.......Nobody wanted to quit and leave.
Mrs. Melanie finally had to very sternly call the game!
I think anyone who attended this Friday night
activity would agree that we had a blast!!!!
